Ever heard a loud gurgling sound coming from your roof during a downpour? Or maybe you’ve noticed waterfalls cascading not from Niagara Falls, but from your overflowing gutters?
Don’t worry, it’s a common problem with a simple solution. This story is about a fellow north shore, Aucklander who faced the same issue – overflowing gutters!
They gave us a call at My Homes Construct for our gutter service, and here’s how we tackled the problem, step-by-step, just like solving a fun puzzle!
Just like with any detective story, we start by investigating! Our friendly professionals visited our client’s house for a free gutter inspection.
This means we climbed up safely (don’t worry, we’re pros!) and took a good look at the gutters. We checked for things like leaves, twigs, and other debris that might be clogging the gutters and preventing water from flowing smoothly.
But in this case, the culprit was a little more surprising! We discovered that the house itself had a bit of a tilt, kind of like a seesaw that wasn’t quite level. This tilt meant the gutters weren’t angled correctly, causing the water to overflow instead of flowing down the drain pipes.
In this case, gutter replacement or some called spouting replacement was the best solution.
We sat down with our client and explained about gutter replacement costs and other issues clearly. We wanted to make sure they understood the problem as well as about the solution and felt comfortable with their house gutter re-installation.
This would ensure they were perfectly level and angled correctly to handle all that rainy weather Auckland throws our way.
Now, usually, gutter replacement is a pretty straightforward job. But remember the tilted house? Because of the tilt, it made things a little trickier. We needed to make sure our professionals could work safely and reach all parts of the gutters easily.
That’s why, for this particular job, we decided to use scaffolding. Scaffolding is like a temporary set of stairs that goes around the house.
It provides a safe platform for our technicians to work on, even on houses that aren’t perfectly level.
With the scaffolding in place and our plan in action, our professionals got to work! They carefully removed the old gutters and replaced them with brand new gutter ones, making sure they were perfectly angled to collect and drain all the rainwater.
Finally, the moment of truth! We climbed back down (safely, of course!) and removed the scaffolding. Our client was thrilled with the results. No more overflowing gutters, just a happy, healthy home ready to face any downpour!
